I don't usually look to the judges for guidance or confirmation, but this show seemed so flat, especially for being 6 weeks into the season, that I checked out Len's scores. He gave four 8's (Nastia, Willow, Rumer, Riker) and four 7's (Patti, Robert, Noah, Chris). Then the two 9s for the team dances.
Maybe I'd change a point here or there, but overall that seems like an accurate take.
The sad part is, there's a lot of talent in the cast this season and I don't think the couples were at fault. The music was terrible. When some of the best dancing couples are struggling with the music (fitting the assigned dance to the music, working in the spring break concept, etc.), maybe the show should take it as a message that Spring Break doesn't make a good theme night.
Considering how many fans were saying the season slow-started and they were having trouble getting into it, last night could have caused another hitch in momentum at such a bad time--just as the season is heading into the stretch.
Okay, so having just thrown a wet blanket, I feel like I should include a bright spot.
Noah and Sharna definitely improved over last week. And to those of us who can't stand what the show does with the editing of the rehearsal videos, Noah calling them out on the live show was a welcome moment--long overdue that someone should speak up and hopefully others will follow his lead. And kudos to the judges for confirming that Noah and Sharna really do have a very good relationship.

I found it interesting that Noah was given a pass from the fans on the ABC board after his little tiff with Sharna while Chris was skewered unmercifully for his little disagreement with Witney. Aw, people are strange!
It wasn't a standout show for that deep in the season was it? Not even the team dances saved it. They were both good and entertaining but not memorable in any way. I enjoyed Robert and Kym even if the judges didn't and for me, Riker and Allison had the best dance of the night.
I keep waiting for this promised spectacular anniversary season to blow the roof off but it just keeps plodding along as it usually does. Maybe with the results shows back we will see something special.
Anybody heard anything about what Bing is predicting? Bing is like ABC and excludes Canadians so I rely on others for my Bing info.

I've been online today and following over at ABC--did see those discussions. That's a good point. Noah had the benefit of seeing that incredible blowback to Chris and Witney's rehearsal video the week before, so he must have decided he wasn't going to let the same thing happen to him and Sharna.
I was also surprised at the length of the discussion over Rumer and Val's dance and whether it was raunchy. That hadn't even occurred to me. What struck me is that it wasn't a very good dance, low content, low energy, definitely not up to what they can do, and on a night that overall wasn't a very good night for anyone, except maybe Riker and Alison. One poster did make a very interesting observation that Val might have been trying to stay on the right side of Len. That had never occurred to me, either, but wow, if true, that could turn out to be a smart move on Val's part.
Len is either bored or just plain not very happy with what he's seeing on the dance floor this season. He's yet to give a 10, last night he didn't even give any couple a 9 for their individual dances. Coincidentally I had checked on what Len had been giving the top dancers for another ABC thread a couple of days ago and he's got Rumer and Val on top, though only by two points. If I'm remembering right I don't think he's criticized them much, either. So if Len finally does break toward one couple over the others, it could be Rumer and Val, and it could come at a point in the season where it means a lot.
But as of now, Len's ho-hum-ness is interesting, since it kind of reflects how a lot of fans are feeling about the season.
I checked out Bing. Thought it might be early because Bing's been taking its time, probably due to getting the final wrong last season, but lo and behold their predictions are up. Big swing, too--Riker has now moved into one of the two "Top" slots with Rumer, replacing Nastia (who got a terrible edit in the group dance rehearsal video last night so that could be the reason she dropped). Chris is predicted for elimination, with Willow listed as "in danger".
But next week's dances and viewer votes are added for next Tuesday night's double elimination, and I don't know if Bing has planned to predict a double.

Update to Bing...happened to look again and there are some changes.
Nastia is back in the Top 2 with Rumer Chris is still predicted for elimination Both Willow AND Robert are listed as "in danger" Riker and Noah are listed as Safe.
Have no idea why the changes. Bing never explains. So I'm guessing that by including a second "in danger" contestant they may be trying to adjust for the double elimination. Hehe, good luck with that, over the past few days the show's changed the schedule several times. Now they've moved the double-E back a week to 5/5--does that mean there will be a single elimination this coming Monday night? Because if not, then the double elimination would include judges scores and viewers votes for 4/20, 4/28 AND 5/4, to be announced on 5/5 Tuesday results show. SMH. So confusing.
Bing measures "buzz" so also guessing two things could be possible for the Nastia-Riker flip. Derek's injury may have registered a lot of buzz, Riker's previous dance experience hitting the ABC board could be another reason???
I'll try to check again tomorrow and keep you posted if things change again.

Just checked Bing again. Another change. Top: Rumer, Nastia Safe: Riker, Noah, Willow In Danger: Robert Will be eliminated: Chris Looks like the buzz-measuring continues, changing as frequently as DWTS has been changing its schedule. May as well wait to see what Bing is showing Monday five minutes before showtime

Okay, just checked and looks like Bing is staying with the last prediction. Chris to go home, Robert in danger.
