and we're not in Kansas anymore, Dorothy.
Yikes. Anyone remember how nice it was to have the two happy, drama-free frontrunners? And how nice it was that the fans who were voting for one of them also liked the other one? And vice versa? And how great the two fan groups got along?
I don't even know what to say. The atmosphere surrounding this whole season is just so bad.

Drama free? Last season? I HATED the duck princess with a passion and wished she would drop off the face of the earth. One more preachy bible line out of her mouth and I would have needed a new plasma screen because I would have thrown something through mine. Was not overly fond of Janelle either. I was very happy to see last season end.

eye of the beholder, I guess I was just thinking of the ABC board. Last season it just seemed so much more pleasant and it was a lot easier to post. Definitely not feeling that this season--to the contrary the board feels like it's always a comment or two shy of blowing sky-high. It could be me, though. I have some health stuff going on and don't have the stamina for protracted debates, so I have been overly careful trying to avoid getting into them. I've also realized that while I'm still one of the 12.yo-many million still watching the show and posting, I'm probably a better fit with the 7 or 8 million who don't watch any more. There's a lot I don't like about the show, and the posters who shared those views have simply stopped watching. It makes perfect sense that the people still posting are still good with the direction it's been taking, and since I do like them, I don't want to rain on the parade, so to speak. As the season winds down the situation that bothers me most is Riker's undisclosed competitive latin experience. Someone posted what they love about Riker is that he's no-drama. I'm reading this and thinking to myself NO DRAMA? Riker is potentially the biggest drama-in-waiting of all. There could be thousands upon thousands of viewers who won't vote for a contestant with previous experience, casting their votes for Riker on the belief that he doesn't have any. So I'm thinking if he wins and those viewers find out after the fact that they've been voting against their own hard and fast rule, yowza. Well, either yowza or they'll just become the next viewer exodus after hearing about it and telling only themselves "you know what? that's it. I'm done."

I had been a member on the ABC official board since the show began with no drama or problems at all. Last year I had THREE handles banned for no valid reason other than I disagreed with a couple of other posters and defended myself against personal attacks. Since then, the official board has turned to crap and all you get is a board suited for a Mormon or Amish discussion group of something. This year with the logon problems, it really dropped way too far. And the censorship is just ridiculous. No links to other sites for news, no criticism about the board, it's pointless.

Have you ever contacted the mods as to why you were banned? I've never been banned but twice I contacted the mods over posts of mine that were disappearing, well, once they were disappearing (all of them!)and then the beginning of last season. That was when threads ref'ing M&M were being deleted. I had started one that wasn't a shipping thread (not a shipper here), it was about their dancing and it was deleted. But this was before it became obvious that M&M threads were being deleted so I had no idea what I had done wrong and I wanted to know.
Never did get a straight answer on why a straight-up dance related post was deleted, but did at least get confirmation that there were no violations against my account.

I am probably way out to lunch, but it seemed that the producers were erasing M&M posts because maybe they had chosen Amy for the win. Why I feel this way, I don't know. It may have been seen as something different and viewer increases for someone with a disability to win. I hope that it will not be a regular thing every season, to have people with disabilities on, people who are unable to do all the dances. Tonight they carried Noah up and down the stairs, and the judges saw it as perfection with their marks. And I hope that there is not the need to have more and more lavish sets and group dances each season. I miss actual dancing but I guess they have to go with what sells.

No, I never bothered contacting the mods over there. I saw no point. I made a post because I was tired of Duck girl and the constant presence of her backwards, homophobic, bible thumping family and people jumped all over me. When I defended myself, I was banned and all my posts removed. I created another handle and was banned when I went to defend another member and a third handle was banned when I criticized the unfair moderation on the board. Not that I really cared. Most of the people over there are juvenile minded idiots anyways. I have no time for people complaining about the show being a 'family show' and the costumes being too sexy. I have no room in my life for American puritanism and their censorship. And don't get me going on bible thumpers. It's the 21st Century and time for people to grow up. If they are worried about the costumes on DWTS, I certainly hope their children do not have Internet access on their computers or phones, because if they do, there are no surprises for them on this show. Anyways... GO RUMER!!!!!

Well, I think you guys know how disappointed I am in this season. Rob Wade promised excitement, innovation and just every superlative you can think of and then delivered this dud. Of course there have been moments I enjoyed but so much was just stuff they've been doing for season after season.
Enough complaining, I am glad Rumer and Val are into the final. Their Swan Lake contemporary was all I could want in a dance. I am mildly surprised but not shocked that Noah made it through. I am also not surprised at the Nastia, Derek elimination. The image rehab the producers started on Monday night was too little, too late. TPTB certainly can't claim to have their finger on the pulse of viewer opinion because the fans have been bad mouthing her personality since the beginning. Some Derek backlash happened too, I think.
As FireDrake says, Go Rumer and Val.

Definitely agree there was Derek backlash. I actually believe the ABD's started catching up with him during immunity week, when there was all that funny stuff going on with Erin announcing Nastia and Derek as winners of the immunity before Willow had even danced. And before that both Len and Julianne telling Chris that he wouldn't be going home that night as though they knew who was. Plus the show having pushed off the double-elimination for another week and both Chris and Robert ending up 20 plus points off the lead--makes you wonder if one or both of them had enough fan power to have knocked off one of the leaders if they hadn't been buried on the leaderboard.
Very odd goings-on with that whole immunity challenge and the double-elimination afterward.
