A disappointment for me tonight. I usually do not get upset about a reality show, but that elimination left a bad taste for me. No matter what people think of her, Nastia is a great dancer and I still think the negativity about her being cold was seeded by the producers and the way she was portrayed. And the ridiculous scoring by the judges and fawning over Noah.
I have not seen any comments about remarks that Allison made. She said that this may be her only chance to be in the finals and she was pushing Riker as hard as she could. So who is this program about.....the celebrity or the pro?? What a twit to say that. One has to admit that with all the negativity about Derek winning multiple Mirror Balls, he always puts the celebrity first and he has never made it about himself winning. Not that I can see anyways.
I don't think that I will be watching next week. What is the sense. The program is supposed to be a pleasure and entertainment to watch, not aggravation.

I don't think Noah belongs in the finals at all. It is a DANCE competition first and foremost and his dancing ability is very limited. It is a shame that he has had two wives leave him and that he was injured by a roadside bomb. But he is not the only one in the world to overcome such adversity. I was not a fan of Nastia and did not like the fact that Derek was on the show this season after making such a huge fuss over the fact that last season would be his last, so I am not sad to see them go. I think Riker should never have been on the show in the first place due to his family connections and his lying about his dance training and competition experience was really beyond the pale for me this year.
Other than Rumer, I do not believe that any of the finalists should be there. I believe that this was most likely my final season watching the show. I have been so disappointed in how it has gone that I have not watched so much as one show from beginning to end. From Erin who's voice is enough to make me change the station to the show turning into "Dancing with the Houghs" the entire experience this season has been sorely lacking. And if next year includes yet another handicapped 'star', that will seal the deal for me.

Probably they will come up with something that will cause controversy to keep viewers talking about the show. Until Amy last season, the judging was not so skewed as it is now. Heather Mills did not get a break and although I don't remember exactly what her scores were, I don't think Marlee Matlin did either. People can be influenced by so many things in how they vote, never mind a reality show but voting in governments even. I would be interested if the judges are told who to mark up or down to either keep them on or get rid of them in whatever order would benefit the show the most. Will Noah automatically get tens for his freestyle, as he did in the semis for guys carrying him around. They say the winner of this will get well over three hundred thousand dollars. Someone will laugh all the way to the bank as the fans are fighting whether they deserve it or not.

I think this is my final season watching the show, too, FD. Certainly agree with Jennifer that the producers bear responsibility for the elimination of Nastia with that horrible rehearsal edit (actually there were two--she was not favorably portrayed in the team dance rehearsal video, either). Also Jennifer, that is a very good point about Heather Mills. The judges certainly weren't giving her any breaks and she was doing pretty well, too.
But my biggest problem with the finalists is Riker. I just don't think the anniversary MB should go to someone who either intentionally or inadvertently misled the viewers about his dance background and never corrected that misimpression. The full viewership believes the closest this guy ever came to a ballroom was when he was a little kid and went to see the Houghs compete. And I'm not crazy about the idea of a pro partner who has no background in ballroom and latin winning the anniversary MB, either.
To me that would be like the producers making an announcement that from now on it wasn't going to be the same show. So for me it's Val and Rumer win or it's not a ballroom-latin show anymore. I'll just become one of the 8 million who got fed up with the gimmicks and the manipulations.
