It is difficult to watch the news these last few days what with the migrants streaming into Europe. I have never seen anything like this. It will change Europe for ever. I don't think that the people realize what problems they may have down the road when things settle down and the tax payers realize what it is costing their societies. I am not sure if racial problems will surface or whether people are not as prejudiced as in times past and are more tolerant of each other's differences. I don't know why the media is putting a spin on the news about how these migrants are all escaping the bombing when most of them are coming from countries where they have settled and there is no bombing. I hope that the countries that will still be taking many thousands, such as Canada, will take the people who are in camps and who do not have the funds to pay the smugglers to get them into Europe. I think that is what England is planning to do.

This is a monumental humanitarian crisis with far reaching and long lasting consequences. I have frequently seen complaints that Islamic countries are not opening their borders to these fellow Muslim refugees and yet that is not so. The very rich Saudi Arabia isn't lifting a finger but Lebanon, tiny Jordan, Turkey are all allowing the desparate migrants in. This won't be solved quickly or easily.

The Gulf states, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, etc... are doing absolutely nothing to help. To be honest, I do not feel that Europe or North America should be giving permanent refugee status to anyone who comes over in this migration. This situation is being abused by many people to jump the line to get into Western countries without going through proper procedures. And not all of those doing so want to live long happy lives in the west.
Allowing these 'refugees' into the west will do nothing to solve the long term problem in the Middle East. All it is doing is allowing the moderates to flee their countries instead of staying and fighting for them. The end result will be a totally radicalized Middle East and decades more of war and violence.
Yes, it is terrible to see images of dead children washed up on the beach but I have not forgotten the images of the Twin Towers falling fourteen years ago. It is past time that the Middle East cleans up their own mess, no matter what it takes to do so.

Saudi Arabia has offered to build two hundred Mosques in Germany. That is quite the insult. I may be selfish, but I mourn when I see the terrible knee deep mess the refugees are leaving everywhere in European countries that used to be clean and had a good part of their economies coming from tourism. I wonder how people who are supposedly suffering poverty and danger can be communicating on twitter with their smart phones and dressed better than the average person in my town. What is going on in Europe is to me a very disturbing thing. When you think you live in a safe country and hundreds of thousands of people can just move in and change life as you know it, force you to support them. It may change in time when the kids grow and work and contribute to society, but many who have to pay now will be dead by that time. I feel that the people who are being invaded are victims as well as the refugees. I wonder if it will get as bad in the USA and Canada, hopefully not.

Just what the world needs... more Mosques. For what it would cost to build 200 Mosques they could probably build 20,000 apartment spaces for the 'refugees' who are really nothing more than immigration line jumpers. These people have the money to pay outrageous sums to smugglers and most likely have the money to provide for their own living expenses. No reason for charity here, they can pay their own way or go back home.
